Braised Beef Ribs(갈비찜)

This dish is supposed to be very tender but to be honest it wasn't soft enough as I didn't cook it slow enough. But the taste was good and my family still loved it even though they kept complaining the toothsome texture of the beef ribs! Oh, well!

serves 4

Ingredients
2 kg of beef ribs
carrots diced

for marinating
1/2 cup of soy sauce
1 cup of water
4 tbsp of sugar
5 cloves of garlic crushed
1 tsp of sesame oil
a pinch of black pepper

Instruction
Mix all the marinating ingredients in a bowl and add in the beef. Cover all the beef ribs with the marinating mixture and sit overnight in the fridge. On the next day bring to boil the marinated beef ribs in a deep pot and once it boils cook it at low medium heat around for one hour. Then carrots are mixed in. Cook another five minutes and serve.

Tips
- The beef for this dish is usually cut in 5cm length with bones in so I usually buy tehm at any Korean butcher. If you can't find any buy any tender parts such as scothch fillet or sirloin fillet and cut them in dices or you can buy any beef ribs available.
- Korean people usually add crushed pear or green Kiwi fruit(not golden Kiwi, though) for marinating to makes the beef ribs tenderer.
- You can buy the marinating sauce at any Korean grocery shop.
