Chives Pan Cake(부추전)


Chives are bathed into the simple runny batter made of white flour, salt and water and pan-fried with a few drops of oil. Chives are thought as a stimuli of appetite in the Spring after the long Winter. For the recipe see  Vegetable Pancake.

Fresh chives are topped on cooked rice to be enjoyed with soybean paste stew. Chives are regarded as one of the dishes to be eaten in the beginning of Spring to stimulate the appetitte after the long Winter in Korean.
