Perilla Leaves Pickle(깻잎장)


My son's favourite. He eats it all year around. Whenever I cook food that he doesn't like he just sneaks out to the fridge and then takes this dish out. Then he is more than happy with some cooked rice and this dish!


Instruction
Just put washed perilla leaves in a deep jar and pour in enough soy sauce to cover all the leaves. When you find it chewy when you eat it cook it in the pot

Tips
- Put a heavy stone on top of the jar as the leaves should be soakred in the pickle base otherwise the leaves floating on the pickle base get stale.
- You can add some vinegar or sugar to your taste.
